A useful software project begins with a conversation about work. Who needs to do what? Where does information get lost? Which decisions take longer than they should?

Start with a real workflow Choose a familiar task and follow it from beginning to end. Note the people involved, the information they need, and the places where work waits. This creates a more useful starting point than a long wish list of features.

Make the exceptions visible The happy path is only part of the story. A changed booking, a corrected record, or a missing approval can reveal the details a system needs to handle well. Talk through these cases early.

Build a shared picture Clear language, small prototypes, and regular reviews help everyone see the same goal. The result should feel familiar to the people doing the work, even when the technology underneath is new.
